We’re teething, really this time
Abi’s first tooth broke through. Â It is a lower incisor. Â Â It’s pretty sharp,too.

SLEEP
We’ve made some progress over the last few days. Â Last night, Abi slept from 7ish PM to 4AM, and then from 4:30AM to 8:50AM. Â Mommy thinks that one of the reasons for Abi’s better sleep is that Abi is again enjoying her baths (part of her bedtime ritual) thanks to the ducky that Grandma bought.
LANGUAGE
Abi clearly understands a few words now. Â These include “booby”, “binky” and “tissue”. Â She has her priorities straight.
PLAY
As Grandma suggested, we are making the living room her play room. Â It is being babyproofed, and has many toys to keep Abi satisfied. Â Mommy is feeling a little freer since Abi can keep herself entertained for short periods of time.
STANDING
Abi now stands just holding on to Mommy’s shirt (not leaning against Mommy).

Enjoying Daddy's shoe

It's a great shoe

She has been enjoying avocado, sweet potato, and asparagus. Â We will also try spinach and carrots this week.
Mommy & Abi went to an indoor playspace today. Â It was filled with soft structures for climbing, balls, tunnels etc. Â Mommy was really surprised by how quickly Abi crawled (once she warmed up). Â She is really fast.

Abi’s sleep schedule is in flux. Â Sunday night she was up at 10, 11, 12:30-2:30, 3:30 and 5:30. Â The next night she was only up at 12:30. Â Last night, she was up at 12:30, 2:30 and 3:30. Â Go figure. Â Mommy & Daddy will try some new sleeping “tricks’ tonight to see if they have any luck in getting her to sleep better.
We are making progress food-wise though. Â For a while, Abi would eat no solid food other than cereal / oatmeal. Â Mommy ate lots of oatmeal when she was pregnant, and so it looks like Abi developed a taste for it. Â For several weeks, Mommy & Daddy kept offering Abi both fresh and jarred fruits & vegetables to no avail. Â Today, however, Abi enjoyed eating freshly made sweet potato and freshly made apple. Â Mommy thinks that she will try freshly made asparagus next, followed by tomato.
“Hi Great Grandpa Bill & Caroline. . .thanks for reading my blog.”
had a “big girl poop.” Â He says, “[t]hat was awful . . .that was awful . . .that was really awful . . .I will have nightmares about it . . .it was really awful.”
to play with Grandma soon! Â She also thinks that Daddy is very tired and hopes he gets some downtime soon.
Abi was teething very badly tonight. Â Tylenol seems to have done the trick. Â Unfortunately, the pain woke her up. Â It is now 11PM, and she has absolutely no interest in sleeping.
Thanks for the comments!

Personally, I think Abi is either blue (science / medicine) or yellow (command). Â She is definitely not red (operations / security) – because we all know what happens to the red-shirted ensign who beams down to the alien planet as part of the landing party.
