So just for the record, XmlBeans does the same thing while validating, and it uses XML Schemas.

Remind me at work and I'll show you.

I think your best bet would be to find a small yet usable (even for you) keyboard, to bring around with you... Then you can pick up arguably any small/cheap computer and use it. I haven't quite figured out the whole 'where do you put the laptop/screen' yet but maybe you put the keyboard on top of the tiny machine's keyboard...

I ALMOST picked up a wireless keyboard at the apple store today (I'm going back tomorrow, perhaps I will) but I have so many keyboards... And I really could just use a wired one. The theory being I leave the laptop on the coffee table and use the keyboard on my lap, when coding or paging through pdf/powerpoints, etc. I think I'll grab a keyboard from upstairs and use that one, for now...

While donating a book is a good idea, and something I'll do, it doesn't solve the overall problem of how are authoring going to be properly compensated by the publishers (their primary source of income), such that everyone will be be happy and continue to WANT to support digital distribution.

Yeah, ayal was working on something related at one point. It was a lot of classloader black magic (which is actually option 4 above).

I may still go that route, but my current approach would have to fail spectacularly for me to want to. :)

I'm not positive but I think Ayal was working on a solution to this problem. Did you ever ping him about it?

I'm pretty sure most of the authors have web sites, and many would have paypal (or Amazon) donation links on them...
