- Abi walked to the playground today. Â She was good and let Mommy hold her hand during the entire walk.
- She can now feed herself yogurt & cereal with a spoon. Â Mommy is very happy that none of the food wound up in Abi’s hair.
- Abi has more teeth. Â Apparently, kids only get 20 baby teeth, ten on the bottom and ten on top (yay!). Â Abi now has six on the bottom and six on top. Â On the bottom, she has four incisor and two molars. Â She’s skipped the canine (cuspid) teeth. Â So, just two more molars and two canines to go on each of her top & bottom. Â Toothy girl!
- Abi is getting social. Â She followed a boy around the playground yesterday, did what he did. Â Even though he was older (19 months), he did not pay attention to her. Â He just noted that they were each wearing a hat. Â Eventually, Abi gave up trying to make friends with him, and went to play elsewhere.
- Abi can now climb up slides, even windy ones that are taller than Mommy. Â She is also very comfortable getting onto and going down slides all by herself.
- Abi waded in Spy Pond yesterday. Â She had a good time.

Abi enjoyed petting the goats, and climbing up the play structure. Â You can see Abi & Mommy at the top of the play structure.

Abi can now put her full hand around door knobs, and she gets hit in the head if she stands under the refrigerator door as it is closed. Â She’s getting tall.
She loves closing the refrigerator door. Â It is her job.

Abi is very communicative, and bossy. Â She grunts, points, and expects her will to be done. Â It usually is. Â Recently, she has expanded her dominion. Â She now leads people by the hand to where she wants them to go (and if that doesn’t work, she’ll push them behind their knees.) Â Here, she leads her cousin Semra to the living room to play.

She’s also been leading Daddy by the hand when she wants him to open a door for her. Â First, she’ll point to the door knob because she knows he can open it. Â If that doesn’t work, she just pushes him into the door because she knows he can get through it. Â She also pushes older children at the playground around. Â Thus far, no one has complained.

Poor Mommy & Daddy have been getting about 4-5 hours of sleep per night for the last three weeks. Â We were in CA for two weeks, during which time Abi was waking up at 3AM local time, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and ready to play. Â During the last week, Abi has been waking up at least once per night because she is ravenously hungry. Â However, when we offer her food during the day, she often nods her head no. Â We are learning that “no” means “maybe”. Â I guess she is not going to be a food feminist. Â Anyway, please excuse the dearth of postings on this blog. Â We are very, very, very tired.

Linda Brockway Landsman My dad has been struggling with health issues recently so I am especially grateful to be celebrating this Father’s Day with him. I’m also grateful to my husband Michael for being a great dad to his two boys. And, I’m immensely grateful for the experience of watching my son fall madly in love with his daughter and blossom into one of the best dads ever. Happy Father’s Day to all.

Mommy has been bemoaning Abi’s limited diet (she tends to refuse new foods) and so Mommy went to a class on picky eaters. Â Mommy learned a few things, including that many Mommies have it much worse than Abi’s Mommy. Â For example, one set of parents reported that their toddler only eats chicken fingers (and maybe a few other foods?). Â So, the toddler gets chicken fingers for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Â Sounds a bit disgusting. Â Fortunately, Abi eats much more variety than that, and she doesn’t eat processed frozen food.
On the positive side, Mommy & Abi went to a supermarket this morning. Â Abi pointed to nectarines, which she’s never tried before. Â Mommy bought a few, and Abi ate them that same day. Â Go Abi!

Daddy reports: Â Stinky had her 15 month physical. Everything’s good, she’s growing well. 3 shots though, so she’s pretty pissed.
