Abi’s first high fever & her super immune system

Posted by abi on Jun 5, 2010 in Uncategorized

Abi woke up with a high fever on Friday.  It went as high as 103 F (39.44 C).  Abi was very tired.  After several calls to Abi’s doctors’ office, Mommy & Daddy realized that they had been giving her the wrong medicine.  The fever was not going down with acetaminophen.  They gave her ibuprofen in the evening, and it immediately went down.  She got a second dose of ibuprofen around 12:30AM.

Abi then woke up on Saturday fever-free.  She has not had any medicine whatsoever.  Her highest fever was 99.6 F (37.55 C).  It is now 5:03PM on Saturday and she has no fever whatsoever. She is acting normal.   Daddy is very impressed with her super duper immune system (and Mommy’s super duper breastmilk).

Last week

Posted by abi on Jun 5, 2010 in Uncategorized

Daddy was with Abi on Wednesday and Thursday of last week.  He reports:

-Abi now holds his hand when they walk together.  (She won’t hold Mommy’s hand.)

-Abi climbed up on the couch from the floor by herself.  He is not quite sure how she did it.

-Abi made him go for a walk when it was very hot out.  She wouldn’t stop crying until he took her outside.  They went to three different playgrounds, and had a greta time.

Daddy reports:

Posted by abi on May 30, 2010 in Uncategorized
  • Abi was trying to reach something on the back of the coffee table.  She could not reach it.  So, she started stacking her toys to use them as a step stool.
  • Daddy was sitting next to an ottoman.  Abi tried to climb on top of it and Daddy discouraged her.  She then started coming up to him, acting as if she wanted to give him a hug, but really trying to use Daddy as a step stool to get on top of the ottoman.

Abi travels the couch

She particularly enjoys running on the couch . . . and hiding “goodies” (i.e., remotes) behind cushions no longer works.

Abi the little monkey

Abi can climb up Daddy’s chair.  Fortunately, it occurred to us to teach her how to dismount from high surfaces (i.e., feet first) a while ago. She was really enjoying his chair.

Abi trains Daddy

Posted by Mommy on May 12, 2010 in Uncategorized

Abi gets applause whenever she puts the sippy cup into the high chair sippy cup holder, rather than throws it onto the floor.   Today, she threw the cup on the floor, and pointed to it (indicating that Daddy who was with her should pick it up).  Daddy put the sippy cup into the holder.  She then clapped her hands, indicating “very good”.  She is starting to train us rather early.

Daddy was with Abi today.  He reports that Abi no longer prefers crawling to walking . . .her preference is to be upright.  She even ran a little bit today.  “We are in so much trouble,” he says.

Abi helps Grandpa celebrate a BIG Birthday!

Posted by Grandma Linda on May 12, 2010 in Uncategorized

Abi and her folks made a trip to New York this past weekend to help Grandpa Michael celebrate his 65th birthday. Grandpa was so surprised and delighted to see her that he cried. It was the best birthday present he could have had.
